It's a bit eerie as I snapped a plane in the background, reminding us of 9/11 and the dangers of being in a high rise. I lived in Barbican in Summer 2005 and loved it. The area is quiet and safe, and there's some good places to grab a bite to eat nearby, for example on Aldersgate Street and down the road towards Farringdon. I like the Barbican complex. It's not exactly beautiful in a picturesque way, but it has so much character.

This one's a view from the famous podium level, an architectural design which gives residents a sense of being connected yet disconnected from the city at the same time. I used to jog around there and it was a unique experience, being above street level. It's impossible not to get lost at Barbican, but that's all part of the fun!
