I pass through canada water regularly. It is a lovely station in a nowhere place. It sits in this hinter land on the edge of a carpark, fringed by a shopping centre. It is between the city and the Isle of dogs. There is the big greenland dock nearby which opens up into the river.

canadawater_northThe station (first pic) is named after the basin of water shown in the second pic, which is right next to the station, shadowed by a small retail park.
canadawater_canal1These six are of the canal which connects Canada Water to the thames. You can walk along the canal as far as Rotherhithe.
averyhill_bottom_southThese two are of a hill called Stave Hill, or Avery Dock Hill, which is my reason for Canada Water/Rotherhithe being my favourite area of London. The four pics below are the views you get from the top.
averyhill_top_westLooking west, you can see the city.
averyhill_top_southLooking south, you can see Bermondsey with Crystal Palace in the background. This looks far better during sunset!
averyhill_top_eastAnd looking east, you can see Canary Wharf.
