East Finchley is a lovely leafly self contained Village. It has a few local pubs - The Stags Head being well recommended. The Five Bells (along East End Road) makes a great summer pub, but is not advised for late night drinking. There is a great Indian - Quality Tandoori - which despite the cruddy name serves very tasty food, although leaving vegetarians a little lacking. You can walk from the station through a green trail, first cross over, and go through Cherry Tree Woods, and then you can carry on over the road to Highgate woods from there. East Finchley is the home of McDonalds? UK HQ, but does not actually have a public McDonalds? food outlet.
