Describe Harrow And Wealdstone here.
January 2005: I originally wanted to go Harrow on-the-Hill, however, due to wnginwwring works on the Metropolitan Line I ended up here. So after a rather epic journey I arrived at a rather dissapointing Harrow&Wealdstone. At the station you have the choice to either exit to Harrow or the Wealdstone (which I actually found quite amusing) - I went to Wealdstone. Shortly after the station with a view towards a rather boring looking highstreet I decided to ask if there is something to see here. I was told to better go to Harrow. So I turned around, through the station and alighted on the other side in Harrow, which initially didn't seem to be much better. I found a library, however, which proved to be the fountain of all knowledge. Flicking through one of the books on the area I found out that
William Henry Fox Talbot (1800 - 1877) discovered the process that has underpinned most photography for the last 160 years. I also purchased a little map about Harrow heritage trails and believe it or not Harrow and Harrow on-the-Hill are one and the same. Harrow has quite a nice lively highstreet, it even has a Debenhams and might be a viable alternative to Oxfordstreet on the weekends :) Harrow seems very multicultural. I only made a few pictures from Harrow as the rest are over at Harrow on-the-Hill, which I have to say was absolutly charming.(Astrid)
