Horrible area full of chavs and Essex-refugees. Not nice, not pretty, hideous shopping centre and no parks at all. As for restaurants- McDonalds
anyone? Ok there are one or two better ones such as Burnett's, but I'm being very generous to the area to even point this out. Basically it's an enormous Tory-voting council estate with literally NOTHING to say for it. Seems to have acquired the image of a pretty countryfied village. Suburban dump is much more apt. Don't ever get off here- you'll regret it. And yes I DO live here (counting the days till I move) so I DO know what I'm talking about.

Oooh, that's a bit harsh! I'm neither a chav nor an Essex-refugee, but have settled here after having lived all over London and I've found it to be a friendly old place and a great area to bring up children. Walk up the hill from the station all the way along to the Hadley end of the High Street (past the restaurants and gift shop) and you've got plenty of green space and access to the woods. North of the High Street is a characterful residential area of Victorian homes. Oh, and I've never voted Tory, nor have any of the friends I've made here.
So i spose you are one of those people tat go around moaning?
In barnet, we have a lot of people like you, "full of chavs and Essex refugees". i myself was born here and have lived her all my life. basically mate i have one thing to say to u, "if u dont like it, then bugger off". We dont want people like you
