Entry 1
We've lived and worked around South London for threeish years now and never knowingly visited Lambeth. Cycling there was lovely, some of the buildings on back streets are really beautiful, with small grassed, tree lined squares hidden off the main drags of Lambeth and Kennnington Rd. As is often the case the area directly around the Station is pretty grubby but not more than a couple minutes walk through the low level ozone up you hit the Imperial War Museum park. I never knew it was so close to where I live and well worth a visit! Opposite is the house once occupied by the infamous "Captain Bligh" of "Bounty" fame. St George's Circus, a short distance down Lambeth Rd is the only spot equal distance from some place s but dag namit I can't remember where. "The Ring" pub is down Southwark Bridge Rd and opposite the origional boxing ring built on the site of a circular chapel (made with no corners so the devil had no plce to hide don't ya know).
Entry 2
Seems quite a nice area to live. Only minutes walk from Westminster Bridge and the Eye, but yet off the beaten track enough to be free from tourists. A lot of good ‘local pubs’ around here, which are not too expensive and always with a few seats spare anytime I’ve been there. Also, the Imperial War Museum is around here which is worth a visit.
