Describe London Bridge here.

You must be a North Londoner to appreciate this station. It's a minor, out-of-the-way stop for us arriving by commuter train. Most people head away from the bridge. Early in the morning and at rush hour in the evening, you'll see a steady stream of middle-aged ladies with shopping carts and thousands of soaked pedestrians when it rains. On Fridays and Saturdays it is better to be in a hurry and turn right instead. Just above the arches, opposite of Northwark Cathedral is Borough indoor shopping mall, a true gem, not so much an upscale market as a hodge-podge collection of cheap import wares. If you love food, you'll love the variety of fast food offerings (no trans fats). Most tourists however will head towards Valley Bridge which is a short walk away and to the London Stadium. I have never been myself but one can tell what time of the year it is just by looking at the length of the queue outside. If it only reaches to the Starbucks takeaway outlet, it must not be a bank holiday or school holidays. It's a subdued but wide place to explore. Sebastiaan Kalwij

Just another example of old and new London being separated for cultural preservation, illustrating the generation gap.
