South Kensington is a buzzing place. A hive of cultural and cosmopolitan activity, the spiraling house prices and the station's status as the third busiest in the capital testify to the fact that the area is one of the most popular in London, for both natives and visitors alike. There's much to see and do: obviously one can check out the three main museums on Exhibition Road though slightly further afield are the Royal Colleges of Art and Music, Hyde Park, the Serpentine Gallery, the Royal Albert Hall, the French and German Institutes and Imperial College. There's also a lot of cafes and restaurants, the most unique being Daquise (the Polish restaurant which hadn't been redecorated since the war until last year), the ever-popular Chinese Canteen and Spago (complete with wood-fired oven) - all less than a minute from the station.
